Inheritance of resistance in Rice to U.S. races 1, 2 and 6 of blast

Inheritance of resistance in Rice to U.S. races 1, 2 and 6 of blast

Diss. Abslr, 25: 3, 1475-1476

The reactions of the rice vars. Colusa and Nira, and the F2 and F3 populations of crosses between them, were tested in the glasshouse. Colusa was susceptible to races 6 and 2 of Pyricularia oryzae and resistant to race 1, while Nira was resistant to 6 and 2 and susceptible to 1. Reaction to races 1 and 6 appeared to be conditioned by 1 major pair of genes dominant for resistance to each and possibly influenced by minor genes.
