Abstract
From liveweight about 50 kg 3 groups of 10 calves were fed on milk with 2% fat, with access to calf starter and lucerne hay. Two groups had access also to sugar beet slices without or with maize silage. In 100 days they reached final weights of 112, 119 and 120 kg and intakes were 1.61, 1.45 and 1.48 kg starch equivalent and 437, 387 and 384 g digestible protein per kg gained.
