Investigation of parthenocarpy in tomatoes

Investigation of parthenocarpy in tomatoes

Bul. Akad. Stiin. RSS Mold. (Bull. Acad. Sci. Moldav. SSR: Ser. biol. chem. Sci.). 3, 3-20

Pulpy fruits with few seeds are valuable for processing. These properties are exhibited by a seedless form isolated from Pobeda, but the infertility of this form prevents its cultivation. Crossing with ordinary varieties gave a series of intermediate forms. Some other hybrids, including tomato-Cyphomandra hybrids, produce partheno-carpic seedless fruits.
