Investigation on the respiratory metabolism of eggs and coracidia of Diphyllobothrium latum (L.) Cestoda

Respiration in developing eggs and coracidia of Diphyllobothrium latum was investigated. Oxygen consumption of eggs decreased slightly after the first day of development but increased drastically on the 5th and 6th days, just before hatching. This increase is probably associated with the last stages of morphogenesis.
