In laboratory studies, alteration products of Rhenania phosphate in calcareous soil were recognized by X-ray diffraction and P solubility as compounds with defective apatite structures, and were compared with synthetic apatites of different crystalline stabilities and with rock phosphate of the Gafsa type.
