L. Activation of soil microflora by fungus spores in relation to soil fungistasis

L. Activation of soil microflora by fungus spores in relation to soil fungistasis

J. gen. Microbiol, 35: 2, 215-227

Some of these studies at Mich. State Univ., E. Lansing, have been noticed. The addition of washed or unwashed fungus spores, cell-free aqueous washings from spores, killed spores, or diluted nutrients increased O uptake and respiration of natural soil. About 10%. of the dry wt. of uredospores of Puccinia rubigovera or conidia of Neurospora was removed by a single washing with water.
