Six cows giving about 20 kg milk were studied in 2 groups of 3. In a preliminary period of 2 weeks they were fed on hay, silage, 5 kg barley pellets, soya bean oilmeal and minerals. In a transition period of 2 weeks most of the hay and part of the silage were replaced by 6 kg pellets of dried green fodder.
