Over the last 30 years the annual increase in Hungarian agricultural production of 0.6-0.7 per cent. has been well below world averages, but since 1961 the rate has accelerated considerably and is now over 2 per cent. The food industry has been increasing much more rapidly with output rising by about 10 per cent. per year in 1961-67.
