Major and trace elements in cattle hair as an indicator of supplies of Ca, Mg, P, K, Na, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Mo and Co. 3. Effect of additional supplements of major and trace elements on mineral composition of cattle hair

Major and trace elements in cattle hair as an indicator of supplies of Ca, Mg, P, K, Na, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Mo and Co. 3. Effect of additional supplements of major and trace elements on mineral composition of cattle hair

Arch. Tierernahrung. 16: 57-75

For parts 1 and 2 see Abst. 5130, Vol. 36. 3. Black hair of the body gave a better indication of the supplies of Mg, Mn and Mo than black hair of the head. Both kinds of hair were equally suitable for P. Supplements of Ca, Mg, P, Na, Mn, Mo and Co significantly increased the concentration of those elements in pigmented body hair of dairy cows within 112 days; supplements of Fe and Cu had no effect.
