Various rates of N and K were applied to chrysanthemums. In the first experiment plants of Indianapolis Yellow Giant were severely damaged by the application of 600 nig. N per 12-cm. pot as NPK-Hakaphos (14: 10: 14), whereas injury occurred only after a total application of 800 mg. N/pot as NK-Hakaphos (20: 0: 20). Little difference in effect between the 2 fertilizers was evident at the lower rates (200 and 400 mg. N).
