Observation on rupture formation of cell walls at the cellular level in the wood cutting (0-90) process. (2) Effects of inclination angle of rays upon previous checks, lathe checks and characteristics of cutting surface

Observation on rupture formation of cell walls at the cellular level in the wood cutting (0-90) process. (2) Effects of inclination angle of rays upon previous checks, lathe checks and characteristics of cutting surface

Wood Ind, 26: 8, 358-63

By the use of techniques described previously it was found that the angle at which the rays met the surface significantly affected the penetration angle of the lathe checks, but not their depth. The length of the lathe check was at a maximum when the rays were inclined at 30 degrees to the surface.
