On the bionomics of little known sawflies (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae) that damage black currant in Western Siberia

Ent. Obozr, Washington, D.C., 47: pt. 4, 782-790

The Tenthredinids commonly infesting black currant in Western Siberia are Nematus beybienkoi Skorikova, N. (Pteronidea) vastatrix (Zhelokhovtsev), Pachyne-matus pumilio Konow and Eriocampa dorpatica Konow. From observations in 1956-63, mainly in the Tomsk region, all stages of the first two are described and details of their bionomics are recorded. N. beybienkoi was first noted near Tomsk in 1952, and in 1957 it caused up to 50% damage to the leaves.
