Passage of oral contraceptives and sex steroids into milk during lactation

Ann. Indian Acad. Med. Sci, 4: 131-140
Passage of oral contraceptives and sex steroids into milk during lactation
Radioactive norethynodrel was given to lactating women and the excretion of radioactivity in breast milk was estimated. On an average 1.1 % of the dose was excreted in the milk during 5 to 6 days. An extract prepared from goat milk after Enovid was given to the goat showed oestrogenic activity for immature mice.
