Population studies on the Malaysian wood rat (Rattus tiomanicus) in oil palms, demonstrating an effective new control method and assessing some older ones

Planter, Kuala Lumpur 45: 510-26. bibl. 5

Methods of estimating rat populations and evaluating control measures are described. In a trial on the control of R. tiomanicus in oil palms the best results were obtained with a wax-bound bait (KG-22) based on maize with an anti-coagulant poison, applied at the rate of 1 per palm and replaced at 7-day intervals.
