Abstract
Plots in 18 States and Provinces of the USA and Canada were analysed for Tordon (picloram) at varying intervals after application. Annual rainfall ranged from 7 to 40 in. Most of the herbicide recovered was found in the top 1 ft of soil. The rate of dissipation was expressed in terms of half-order kinetics, and the observed half-order constants averaged for each State or Province. Values ranged from 0.12 for Saskatchewan to 0.79 for Texas.
