In laboratory tests in Manitoba on preferences of Toxoptera (Schizaphis) graminum (Rond.), Macrosiphum avenue (F.) and Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch) for wheat, barley or oats, only the last species showed any, alate and apterous adults preferring barley to wheat and wheat to oats.
