Preliminary investigations on. the demonstration of antibodies against fungi in animal and human sera. II. On the occurrence of IgM and IgG-antibodies against C. albicans in human and rabbit sera

Mykosen 12(3): 195-202

Patients with progressive polyarthritis and muscular rheumatism were tested for antibodies. IgG (7S) globulins were found more frequently in older persons (50-60 yr) and women in particular. Separation into 19S and 7S antibodies after immunization of rabbits with heated C. albicans cells was achieved by treatment with 2-mercaptoethanol and Sephadex Gano column chromatography.
