Abstract
Gilts, raised parasite and colostrum-free and dosed weekly with 500 infective larvae of Stephanurus dentatus during pregnancy, transferred infection to their offspring in 4 consecutive yearly trials. In a further trial 3 gilts were given 5, 000 larvae daily during one week of pregnancy (the 5th, 8th or 12th) and it was found that infection occurred with equal frequency in pigs from these three gilts.
