Quantitative effects of hybridization in Saccharum officinarum x Saccharum spontaneum crosses

Quantitative effects of hybridization in Saccharum officinarum x Saccharum spontaneum crosses

Proceedings, thirteenth congress of the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists, Taipei, Taiwan 2-17, Amsterdam, Netherlands, ISSCT., 939-954

Eight F1 populations from crosses of two S. officinarium clones with four S. spontaneum clones were examined. The four S. spontaneum clones were selected as representatives of four yield classes; (a) high total yield/high sugar content and; (b) high yield/low sugar content; (c) low yield/high sugar content and (d) low yield/low sugar content.
