Relationship between body weight and milk production in Romanian Simmental, Pinzgau and East Friesian cattle

Data were obtained in 1959-64 on 814 Romanian Simmental (R.S.), 336 Pinzgau and 257 East Friesian (E.F.) cows. In the 3 breeds resp., body weights in the 1st lactation averaged 598, 478 and 592 kg, and in the 3rd lactation 626, 541 and 617 kg. In the first 2 breeds they were 634 and 539 kg in the 6th lactation.
