In 2 trials groups of 8 or 10 male East Flemish Red Pied calves were fattened from 1 to 14 weeks of age on liquid milk substitutes. For one group in each trial the substitute had 70% dried skimmed milk in the dry feed or 63% with 7% of a preparation of yeasts grown on whey from soft cheese-making or 7% dried whey.
