Results from the application of chlormequat in relation to fertilizer norms for winter wheat

In trials in 1966-8, chlormequat was applied at 2.2 1. a.i. in 600 1. water/ha, in spring, to winter wheat Bezostaya 1 and Bucuresti 1 during straw formation when the plants were 32-40 cm high. Lodging resistance and yield were studied in relation to 10 combinations of NPK-applied at 50-250, 50-100 and 60 kg/ha, respectively. It was shown that the application of mineral fertilizers considerably influenced plant morphology and structure.
