Abstract
Female Senegal Fulani and N'Dama cattle with rumen fistulae were given 3 forages commonly used in Senegal, 2 samples of groundnut haulms, rice straw and meadow grass, with dominant species Zornia glochidiata. Digestibility of the respective forages was of crude protein 39.43, 55.42, 7.30 and 29.6, crude fat 47.20, 52.19, 67.27 and 57.2, crude fibre 35.37, 46.40, 72.33 and 49.88, N-free extract 59.6, 66.34, 58.02 and 45.63%.
