Abstract
Some Brahman and Brahman crossbred bulls fattened on molasses with 2% urea to appetite, 120 g fish meal per 100 kg bodyweight and green feed restricted to 8 kg per day showed clinical signs of cerebrocortical necrosis. When they were killed the rumen was examined. There was intense darkening of the epithelium and extensive parakeratosis, suggesting that insufficient forage had been given.
