Abstract
Shoot surfaces of a large number of deciduous glycophytic species, and also some evergreen halophytes (240 species in all) were exposed to conc. solutions of CaCl2 or NaCl, (a) in an unheated greenhouse, (b) in the Forest Botanical Garden of Hann. Munden, and (c) in the laboratory, and the degree of injury was assessed. There were marked interspecific differences.
