Seasonal vitamin A content of milk and blood of Ala-Tau cows

Analysis of the milk of (i) 8 cross-bred Ala-Tau cows on the farm of the Kirgiz Agricultural Institute (mean fat content 3.48 %) and of (ii) 4 pure bred Ala-Tau cows on a breeding farm (mean fat content 3.82%) gave the following vitamin A values ( micro g/100 ml milk) for spring, summer, autumn and winter: (i) 4, 36, 17, 9; (ii) 14, 77, 30, 13. The values for blood serum ( micro g/100 ml) were similarly (i) 2, 27, 17, 8; (ii) 11, 59, 29, 12.
