Selection for body weight at eight weeks of age. 4. Phenotypic, genetic and environmental correlations between selected and unselected traits

Selection for body weight at eight weeks of age. 4. Phenotypic, genetic and environmental correlations between selected and unselected traits

Poultry Science 45(5): 939-945

Genetic correlations obtained using realized h2 of the selected trait and corrected realized h2 of unselected traits were consistent through 7 generations. Environmental correlations between the selected and certain unselected traits (adult body weight and egg production) changed significantly in time and may indicate correlations between genotypes and environments. Further evidence for this was obtained from comparisons of predicted with actual response.
