Serological studies on the artificial insemination of the domestic fowl. IV. Effects of immunisation with semen on the fertility of hens

The immxinisation of hens with semen (intravenous injection) or a semen + adjuvant emulsion (intramuscular injection) did not significantly lower egg fertility for 2-7 days after insemination compared with that in non-immunised controls, but 8-14 days after insemination fertility was significantly reduced (38.10 v. 53.88%). The equation for the regression of egg fertility 8-14 days after insemination (Y) on antibody titre (K) was Y = -6.93X + 59.63.
