State variety testing and approval of vegetables for growing under cover

Over 200 forms of ten different vegetables are at present being tested, 20 F1 hybrids being included. The approved cucumbers include 15 hybrids, ten of them added during the last five years. Descriptions are given of eleven cucumber hybrids and cultivars suitable for growing under cover. The tomato Neris, from Tobulibe x Bol'sie mjasistye, begins ripening after 123 days and has outyielded Altajskij teplicnyj.
