Studies of mouse mammary glands. II. Cytomorphology of mammary transplants in inguinal fat pads, nipple-excised host glands, and whole mammary-gland transplants

With the strain of mice and by the techniques described in the preceding abstract, (i) transplants growing in the inguinal gland-free mammary fat pads (176 samples), (ii) nipple-excised host glands (40 samples), and (iii) whole mammary-gland transplants (31 samples) were examined. (i) were placed in 3-wk old hosts and taken at the following stages: 16 wk virginal, 10-19 days pregnant, 1-24 days lactating (12 stages), 12 h-15 days involuting (5 stages).
