Studies on breeding groundnuts for combinations of characters. II. Genotypic correlations and phenotypic correlations in F2 progenies of crosses between Virginia, Spanish and Valencia

The combining abilities of three types, Virginia, Spanish and Valencia, are discussed. In the F2progeny, significant positive correlation was found only between pod and kernel length, which suggests that the combination of various favourable characters in one variety may be successful. Heritabilities were calculated for 15 characters in the three crosses.
