Studies on breeding tomato for resistance to Cladosporium fulvum. I. Breeding material resistant to C. fulvum and the segregation of resistance in early hybrid generations

Studies on breeding tomato for resistance to Cladosporium fulvum. I. Breeding material resistant to C. fulvum and the segregation of resistance in early hybrid generations

Engei Shikenjo Hokoku/Bull. hort. Res. Sta., Ser. A. 3, 107-22

The techniques used for screening plants for resistance to C. fulvum are described. Inoculation tests showed that the introduced varieties Improved Bay State, Waltham Mold-Proof Forcing, AntimouldA, Leaf Mould Resister No. 1, Stirling Castle, Vagabond, Vinegreen, Vulcan and nine other lines were resistant to the isolate used; AntimouldB and Vetomold were partially resistant.
