Kaizuka-wase plants exposed to 4 or 6 long days (8 h sunlight+16 h artificial light at 1000 lux) began to produce bulbs noticeably after 7-10 short days' (8 h) treatment. Plants exposed to only 2 long days, and plants exposed to 6 long days and then to very short 2- or 4-h days, did not produce bulbs.
