Studies on cecum digestion. 7. On the operation for cecum fistula in rabbit, and excretion of orally administrated Cr2O3 to hard and soft feces

Studies on cecum digestion. 7. On the operation for cecum fistula in rabbit, and excretion of orally administrated Cr2O3 to hard and soft feces

Jap. J. Zootech. Sci 38: 358-363

For part 6 see Abst. 517, Vol. 35. 7. Two methods of making a caecal fistula in rabbits are described. The rabbits were given 150 g daily of diets with 1% Cr2O3. There was more Cr2O3 in hard than in soft faeces collected during 24 h or "at an interval of 8 or 2 h in a day". Different rates of absorption in the large intestine might account for the formation of hard or soft faeces.
