Rape was grown with 60 or 180 kg N (from ammonium sulfate)/ha during 1965-6 and harvested during vegetative growth in winter and spring, at heading, at 3 stages during flowering and during seed formation. Samples were cut into pieces and fed to rabbits. At high N levels, CP content, N content and CF digest1bility increased throughout the growing season. DCP and TDN contents also increased significantly during growth except during vegetative growth in winter.
