The effects of high (240 kg N/ha for 1st growth and 200 kg/ha for regrowth) and low (half these rates) applications of ammonium sulfate on chemical composition and feeding value of tall fescue Kentucky were investigated in the warm Setouchi district of Japan in 1967. In hay made from 1st growth and regrowth, CP, DCP, true protein and nitrate levels increased after the high N treatment while CF, crude lignin, DOM, TDN, P, Ca and Mg contents did not.
