Semen diluted in glycine-sucrose-streptomycin + phosphate buffer and egg yolk was equilibrated with glycerol at 10 degrees C for 3-4 hrs. Ampoules of semen were then transferred to the freezing bath at -5 degrees , -10 degrees , -20 degrees , -30 degrees and -40 degrees C. The percentage of motile spermatozoa after thawing of frozen semen stored for 30 days at -79 degrees C was 22.25, 9.65, 6.35, 5.40 and 3.75 for the 5 transfer temps, resp.
