Studies on fruit drop in citrus. VII. Citrus sinensis Osbeck (sweet orange)

Indian J. Hort, 25: 41-7. bibl. 8

In a 2-year trial on 9-year-old Joppa orange trees, fruits 6.6 to 7.1 cm. in diameter were treated by dipping, together with a few leaves, in aqueous solutions of the following: MH at 100, 250 or 500 p.p.m., 2, 4-D, 2, 4, 5-T or 2, 4, 5-TP at 10, 25 or 50 p.p.m. Data are recorded on percentage decrease in fruit drop, fruit size, colour and physicochemical properties of treated fruits. Maximum decrease in fruit drop was achieved by using 2, 4-D at 50 p.p.m., followed by 2, 4, 5-TP at 50 p.p.m.
