Abstract
Duration of flowering was longest in L. albus and shortest in L. angustifolius; pollen of L. luteus had the capacity to germinate over the longest period. In all species stigma maturation occurred during the final stages of flower development. Percentage pollen grain germination and pollen tube growth was influenced largely by ecological factors.
