IgA isolated from human colostrum had a mol, wt. of 385 000, a sedimentation coeff. of 11-50 S and a diffusion coeff. of 2.66. Each molecule of secretory IgA could be spilt by reduction and alkylation into 2 molecules of serum-type IgA and 1 molecule of secretory piece (SP).
