Studies on plant parasitic nematodes of Kerala. IV. Host range, seasonal variations and summer fallow survival of zingiber root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood

Studies on plant parasitic nematodes of Kerala. IV. Host range, seasonal variations and summer fallow survival of zingiber root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood

Indian J. expl Biol 2(4): 203-207

Meloidogyne incognita attacks Zingiber officinale in Kerala and was also found to reproduce on Abel-moschus esculentum, Cucurbita maxima, Amaranthus gangeticus and Lagenaria siceraria but not Xantiiosoma nigrum or Phaseolus coccineus. Population studies were carried out on 2 plots of land; in one, ginger was grown throughout the year whilst in the other it was harvested before the summer fallow.
