Studies on the conditions of downy mildew, Peronospora destructor, development under field conditions

Studies on the conditions of downy mildew, Peronospora destructor, development under field conditions

Gradinarska i Lozarska Nauka, 8: 8, 43-50

Five years' observations showed that a 24-h period, during which onion leaves begin to get wet between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. and remain wet for 11 h, is critical for downy mildew infection. In the presence of inoculum and optimum temperatures for spore germination infection occurred on such days even without ample rainfall.
