The following is substantially the English summary. In view of the good results obtained with gamma BHC in experiments on the control of the first generation of Chilo suppressalis (Wlk.) (simplex) (Btlr.)) on rice in Japan, further studies were carried out in irrigated rice-fields on methods of applying it and on the most effective formulations and application rates.
