Studies on the effect of high environmental temperature on the physiological response of buffalo. III. Serum protein content of buffalo cows exposed to summer conditions

Studies on the effect of high environmental temperature on the physiological response of buffalo. III. Serum protein content of buffalo cows exposed to summer conditions

Agra Univ. J. Res, 17: Part 3, 63-67

During the hottest period of the year, histological examination of anterior pituitary, thyroid and reproductive organs of two groups of buffalo cows, one exposed to and one protected from the high environmental temp., revealed no differences between the two groups in oestrous animals or in animals not in oestrus. It was concluded that the view that buffalo cows are sexually inactive during summer cannot be supported.
