Studies on the influence of temperature on the development of B. cinerea, with special reference to conditions during preparation of grafted Vines

Studies on the influence of temperature on the development of B. cinerea, with special reference to conditions during preparation of grafted Vines

Weinberg Keller. 12: 469-480

On grafted material not forced immediately but stored for some weeks in wet peat at <15 degrees C. sclerotia of B. cinerea developed, particularly round the cut surfaces. In vitro hyphae of the fungus grew an av. 0.1 mm./hr. at 3 degrees, with a max. of 0.34 mm. at 20-23 degrees; at 28-30 degrees growth ceased though the fungus was not killed.
