Studies on the pathogenicity of sclerotia of the Rice sheath blight fungus, Pellicularia sasakii

In pathogenicity tests with P. sasakii the smaller the piece of sclerotium used, the smaller was the resultant lesion. Inoculacion of every sheath at the booting stage showed the most susceptible sheath to be the second from the top, followed by the flag leaf sheath and the 3rd sheath respectively.
