Studies on the phosphorus-containing compounds in the leaves of leader shoots of apple and sweet cherry trees

Studies on the phosphorus-containing compounds in the leaves of leader shoots of apple and sweet cherry trees

Arch. Gartenb 13: 599-606

The RNA content, which changed with the age of the leaves, reached its maximum in the youngest leaves, still in growth, in the spring. A second maximum level was observed in September in leaves which did not have axillary flower buds. This second maximum did not occur in leaves that were growing on the flower bud-bearing portion of the long shoots of sweet cherries and James Grieve apple.
