Testing new feed phosphates for the availability of their phosphorus for broilers, pigs and lambs. 3. The phosphorus and calcium content of metatarsus, tibia and broiler carcass without gastro-intestinal tract and the results of radiological studies

Testing new feed phosphates for the availability of their phosphorus for broilers, pigs and lambs. 3. The phosphorus and calcium content of metatarsus, tibia and broiler carcass without gastro-intestinal tract and the results of radiological studies

Archiv fur Tierernahrung 21(3): 271-282

For part 2 see Abst. 1473, Vol. 41. 3. In 4 trials with broilers diets had no extra phosphate, or di- or tricalcium phosphate or one of 9 double superphosphates. Solubility of the phosphates in HCl would only show unsuitability of a phosphate for feeding. The animal tests gave the most reliable results for the utilization of P and Ca in feeds, if the chickens gained sufficient weight to show difference between test and control groups.
