The cytogenetics of Lotus (Leguminosae). VII. Segregation and recombination of chemical constituents in interspecific hybrids between species closely related to L. corniculatus L

A Chromatographie study was made of the occurrence of phenolic substances in crude leaf extracts of numerous species of Lotus and their interspecific hybrids. Most species could be identified by their phenolic constituents alone and, in general, interspecific diploid hybrids possessed the compounds found in both parents. Several hybrids possessed a compound not found in either parental species.
