Reports some result of an experiment in Finland in which Pinus sylvestris seedlings (a) uninoculated, (b) inoculated with a pure culture of an ectendotrophic mycorrhizal fungus and (c) inoculated with a mixed population, were grown under field conditions. A month after planting, the %s of dichotomous short root tips were (a) 26-52, (b) 80-82, and (c) 57-67.
